From January-March 2024, we held a series of conferences about each of the Vision for Volunteering themes.

In this conference on the theme of Awareness and Appreciation, we heard an introduction to the Vision for Volunteering and an overview of the theme. We heard from Rachel Gegeshidze about Tempo Time Credits and explored NCVO’s Time Well Spent report about the impact of volunteering.

In this conference on the theme of Collaboration, we heard an introduction to the Vision for Volunteering and an overview of the theme. Sam Clift from the London Transport Museum gave an overview of how the museum’s volunteering strategy was developed in collaboration with volunteers. Lisa Andrews from CVS Tendring led a session on collaborative volunteering in practice.

In this conference on the theme of Equity and Inclusion, we heard an introduction to the Vision for Volunteering and an overview of the theme. We explored themes such as listening to those with lived experience with Helen Russell from Tyne and Wear Museums, committing to trauma-informed practice with Maria McEvoy from Volunteering Matters, and the amplification of marginalised voices. Amy McGarvey presented findings from NCVO’s Time Well Spent report, focussing on volunteering amongst the global majority.

In this conference on the theme of Power, we heard an introduction to the Vision for Volunteering and an overview of the theme. Nicola Lake from ResourceVol led a workshop on leadership in volunteering and how to attract and empower volunteer leaders. Finally #iwill ambassadors Zeze, Mabrookah, Joba and Bill talked about the power of youth social action.

In this conference on the theme of Experimentation, we heard an introduction to the Vision for Volunteering and an overview of the theme. Maddy Mills from the Family Volunteering Club talked about the importance of taking baby steps towards the future we want to see and Collette Brown from Young Lives vs Cancer gave an overview of experimenting with micro-volunteering.
