The year in review

It’s hard to believe that it’s been a full year since the Vision for Volunteering Team started! We’ve been working hard over the past 12 months to bring the Vision for Volunteering to those who can use it to build a better future – that's you, reading this, and all the other charities, volunteers, volunteer managers, public & private services, funders and community champions out there changing volunteering for the better.

Maybe you were one of the over 500 people who came to one of our introductory sessions to learn about the Vision for Volunteering for the first time. Maybe you are one of our 100 Vision for Volunteering champions or 100 trained storytellers collecting voices of lived experience within volunteering. Maybe you’re one of the 1000s of people who have accessed volunteering resources on our website, liked a social media post, or read a blog. Maybe you’ve watched our new animated video or made a solid pledge for future action.

Or maybe you’re here now, reading about the Vision for Volunteering for the first time.

Whatever part you’ve played, you're making a difference. We know that for a movement like the Vision for Volunteering, it’s those small steps from lots of people that will lead to long-term, positive change. Small actions lead to big changes.

It’s been a real privilege to listen to your stories, your challenges, your ideas and your actions over the past year. There continue to be so many challenges facing organisations both big and small, but if there’s one thing we’ve learnt, it’s that those solutions are out there. With the right support and resources, we can make them work everywhere, for everyone.

This is only the beginning. The Vision for Volunteering runs all the way through to 2032, so there is time for more change, more connections, more innovation.

Thanks for everything, and keep it up!

Laura, Sarah and Georgia
